Occupational Therapy within Macon County Schools!

Since 1975 Occupational Therapy services have been available to students in public schools as part of the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA). Occupational therapy focuses primarily on fine motor skills development, sensory-motor processing, self help skills, adaptations to access the school environment, and life skills/vocational skills training. Students are served in their classroom setting in a collaborative relationship with their teacher as well as in pull-out settings to work on specific skills.
