Welcome to English 9/Reading in the 21st Century!  Reading comprehension and creative thinking are basic to working and living in our ever-changing, rapidly paced world. Technology challenges our ability to know what comes next. Still, compassion for our fellow citizens is the most important force that drives our civilization. Reading informs us about our global economy and other cultures while requiring higher order thinking in order to survive, enjoy and experience a meaningful life.
