The curriculum at MEC, while it follows the North Carolina Standard Course of Study (NCSCOS), is both RIGOROUS AND RELEVANT for all students. High school classes are honors level. Students are required to take the ACCUPLACER COLLEGE PLACEMENT TEST, which places them indivdually in the most rigorous college curriculum in which they will be successful. College courses act in a dual role, meeting the high school graduation requirements and the general education requirements for Southwestern Community College thus making for a seamless transition in the 9-13 experience. Career oriented classes and internships help students build their own bridges between school and the community. | |
