 Introduction

Happy 2012!  And welcome to the start of Spring Semester.  I am so excited for all the things a new year and a new semester bring and it is off to a great start already!

This semester, I am teaching Civics and Economics, and two sections of U.S. History.  For information about each of these classes, click on the links below.  I am a graduate of Franklin High School and I chose to go to college at Western Carolina University where I majored in History and Social Sciences Education.  I received by Bacherlor's Degree in the Spring of 2008 and started teaching at Union Academy here in Franklin.  I taught there for two years before I was lucky enough to be brought on here at MEC.  This is my second year here and I absolutely love it!

In the way of a more personal introduction, I am married to my wonderful husband of (almost) 3 years, Mark.  My younger twin sisters, Katie and Kacie, live with us and will be graduating high school this year!  Both will be attending universities to play volleyball in college and we are very excited for that!  We currently have two dogs and a new kitten, Remy, Kota, and Millie.  This is my third year as the assistant coach for the JV girls basketball team at Franklin High School.  I love to read, coach and play basketball (I'm a big Carolina Tarheels fan!), and I love to cook and bake!

I look forward to getting to know my students better this semester and teaching them why the history of our country, and our government, are so important!
