Welcome to our class website! Your assignments are securely placed on Blackboard, please click the link below to enter. I love teaching science and I'm glad you are in either Biology, Earth/Environmental Science, or Physics this semester.
First-year students in Earth Science, congratulations on making your decision to apply for and come to Macon Early College! In Earth Science, you are going to be learning about rocks and minerals, our natural resources, alternatives to traditional energy sources, volcanoes, earthquakes, and mountain building, earth's history, weather and climate, hydrology and oceanography, and even astronomy.
Welcome to Biology! You'll get a chance to see your very own DNA (and have a debate deciding who can have access to it), learn about evolution through repeating some of Darwin's experiments, learn about animal behavior through observations of zoo web-cams, and hopefully answer some questions you haven't thought of yet. You'll be learning about the 6 Kingdoms of life from the very tiny to the very large, in the most hands-on and authentic ways I can think of. I hope you enjoy studying biology as much as I do and hope you will learn new things!
Physics, anyone? This year you third-year students will be taking Physics; learning about the physical forces that guide our world, energy in its' many forms, waves and behavior of waves, electricity and magnetism. In this class, you will be encouraged to ask questions and figure out ways to answer them. We will have lots of hands-on activities and labs, as well as utilize several online resources for virtual labs and simulations. Bring your sense of curiosity and a willingness to roll some carts, graph a lot(!), build some circuits and see how sound and light are related.
