My name is Deloress June (DJ) Kolton.
Since I love the ocean, the beach, and animals and since I adore Johnny Depp and the Pirates of The Carribean movies, my classroom is adorned with a nautical and 'piratey' look. I allow the students to call me Cap'N Kolton or Mrs. Kolton.
I began teaching in Ware Shoals, SC, then after two years moved to Calhoun Falls, SC. Six years later I moved to the mountains with my husband, Chuck and settled in Clayton, GA. I began teaching at Macon Middle School in 2007. This is my 5th year here - four in which I taught math and this year teaching science.
My BS in Middle Grades Education was obtained in 1999 from Emmanuel College and my Master of Education degree was completed in 2008 from Southern Wesleyan University. I hold HQ credentials in NC which qualifies me to be able to teach all four academic subjects in middle school.
My 5 children have graced me with 11 granchildren - 9 girls and 2 boys! My husband and I live a simple and quiet life of reading, visiting grandchildren, and light traveling. My favorite animal is dogs ( I have a Pom and a Boxer), my favorite cuisine is true Mexican, color is Dark Teal, and I read historical fiction stories in my spare time.
I did it! I updated my introduction today Dec. 07, 2011
