Union Academy > Anna Kohlman

 Welcome students, new and returning!

We hope to have another positive year with high expectations for positive growth for everyone!

My name is Anna Kohlman and I teach High School Language Arts at Union Academy. I am considered a highly qualified, veteren teacher with many years of experieince in not only North Carolina but also Louisiana and Mississippi. I have worked at LBJ Job Corps. in conjunction with SCC in Adult Education and the general GED Program.

I love Union Academy not only becauseof our diversified population, but also because it provides me with the opportunity to stay on top of my game, with challenges around every corner. I'm proud to say we have a special bond here at Union: more like a family. We nurture our students and help them acheive their goals. We try to guide them to their highest potential.

I hope our time together leaves you feeling the same way. :)

Senior projects are once again being included. There will be some minor changes which include work based mentoring. These minor changes are being customized to better suit our student population. Research papers will have slightly more regulated requirements such as the use of minimum one book (hard copy not internet accessed), one periodical, interntet data bases, and internet web sites. The publishing format will follow MLA, and possible team presentations will be considered. Seniors will be notified with specifically designed packets, along with the standard approval and verification forms which have been used in the past. Dates for completion of certain criteria are being set.
