Welcome to my class!! I am the middle school Language Arts teacher at Union Academy. I teach 7th and 8th grade students. In my class we all work together to learn and explore the wonderful world of Literature and Books concentrating on novels, short stories, informational texts and poetry. Our first book this year was the young adult novel, The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins. The students really enjoyed this novel and we are looking forward to the movie's release this spring. We also read, The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton. Our next novel will be Canned, by Shearer. We are also using a new reading program called Read 180 by Scholastic. updated 1/27/2012
