Macon County Schools welcomes applications from individuals who are interested in becoming substitute teachers. Please follow the procedures below to file an application for substitute teaching.
Applying To Become a Substitute Teacher
- Download and complete a Substitute Teaching Application, and an Authorization and Release Form to authorize your background check.
- You will need to register for and complete the Substitute 101 training. Once you have completed the training, print the certificate and attach it to the Substitute Application. The link for the Substitute 101 training is: https://wresa.org/wresa-updates/
- After you have downloaded and completed these forms, the application should be submitted to a principal at any Macon County School for approval. The principal will sign and approve the application and forward to the Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Department will complete your background check, then place your application on the Board Agenda for approval at the monthly Board of Education meeting.
- Once approved by the Board of Education, you will be sent a letter confirming your approval. Upon receipt of your letter, you will need to come by the Central Office and complete the required employee paperwork.
