This week, we celebrate National School Counseling Week and recognize our incredible school counselors. Thank you for your commitment to supporting students’ academic success, well-being, and future goals. We truly appreciate you!

After consulting with DOT and driving problem areas, and with today’s warmer temperatures and rain moving in overnight, Macon County Schools- Franklin area- will operate on a 3-hour delay for tomorrow, Wednesday, February 4, 2026 with no buses on icy roads.

Due to secondary road conditions and icy campuses, Tuesday, February 3, 2026 will be a remote learning day for all Macon County Schools. We will continue to communicate with all necessary departments to determine when roads & campuses will be safe to return to in-person learning.

The Macon County Board of Education will hold their Regular Scheduled Meeting on Monday, February 16, 2026 beginning at 6:00 pm at Cartoogechaye Elementary School located at 3295 Old Murphy Road, Franklin, NC.
