If your child rides a school bus, a yellow information card must be completed. These are handed out by each driver and must be given back to the bus driver. The information card is required for all students that ride a school bus.

📘 BOG Test
On Wednesday, Sept. 3, all 3rd grade students will take the Beginning-of-Grade Reading Test (BOG).
🎒 Car Tags
Car rider tags for student pickup are available for $5. Contact the office if you would like to purchase one.
⏰ Reminders
Please use car rider drop-off or bus transportation so students can arrive on time. Morning routines led by teachers are an important part of the day, helping students start strong and develop life skills.
📲 Rooms Messaging
School and classroom information is shared through Rooms on the MCS app. If you are not yet connected, call to make an appointment and we’ll help set you up.
📝 Assessments
Benchmark assessments for all students begin Sept. 3 and continue through mid-September. These help us monitor academic growth and provide support where needed.
🍎 School Cafeteria Meals
Breakfast and lunch are free for all East Franklin students this year. Please complete the meal application to help our school continue qualifying for free meals in the future.

You are welcome to walk your child to class this week. You must have your identification in hand to be signed in before walking them to class.
Bus 163 will run in the mornings only this week. We will update you when about next week as soon as we know.
Bus 28 will begin running mornings and afternoons starting tomorrow, Tuesday, August 26th.
All students in first through fourth grade will begin school tomorrow, Monday, August 25th. Doors open at 7:30. You may walk your child to class this week, have your ID ready at the front entry.
Bus 163 will have a morning driver this week but will not have a driver in the afternoons this week. We will keep you updated as drivers are available.
Bus 28 will not run tomorrow but will have a driver beginning Tuesday morning. We are grateful to have a driver that will take this route full time beginning Tuesday, August 26th.
Please allow extra time for drop-off and pick-up the first week of school until everyone gets into back into routine, cars and buses will take more time. The procedures will become routine again and lines will get shorter. Please abide by the procedures that we have in place for safety. If you have a car rider tag from a previous year with all your child or childrens names then you may use it. If you do not have a tag you must pick up your child in the front office once the car rider line has ended. If you see buses in the outer loop of the parking lot, then car rider pick up has ended and you are required to pick up at the front office with ID.
Thank you for your patience and understanding that these policies are in place for safety. If you have individual questions about transportation, using Rooms messaging on the MCS app is the best way to reach Mrs. Parker with those questions. You can also message your child's teacher using Rooms messaging. We are excited to see students tomorrow to begin a wonderful new school year!

EFS Open House is August 21st

An important reminder Open House is drop in today from 2:00 until 6:00 for first, second, third, and 4th graders . Kindergarten Open House is at 1:00 or 6:00 and will also be an information time for parents led by the classroom teacher. Kindergarten girls start school on August 25th and do not have school on th 26th. Kindergarten boys begin on August 26th. All students in first through fourth grade will begin on Monday, August 25th. We look forward to seeing students and families soon!

Beginning Thursday, July 31st, parents and guardians will be able to view their child’s assigned classroom teacher through the Parent Portal.
🚨 Very Important:
If online registration updates are not completed, the classroom assignment will not be visible in the Parent Portal. Please make sure your child is fully registered and information in the parent portal is updated for the upcoming school year.

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to inform you that classroom assignments will not be posted on the front doors of our school building this year to protect the confidentiality of student information.
You will be able to find out your child's assigned teacher by signing into the Infinite Campus Parent Portal beginning on July 31st. This is the school district platform used for school registration and student information. This account provides access to grades, attendance, and personal information. Please note that if you have not updated registration for your student for the upcoming school year, you will not be able to view your child's assigned classroom teacher.
